Vampire Mode and Zombie Mode

I started my journey into the realm of weight loss when I was a chubby little kid eating cotton-candy every day. No joke. I had an industrial size cotton candy machine that I would go around selling cotton candy with. The problem I had, the problem that plagues the drug dealing industry, is that I kept getting high on my own stash.

Yes cotton-candy is a drug, and yes it gets you high!

It's the good stuff. The pure stuff. THE SUGAR!

Getting high on sugar and food comes with it's own set of problems. You wont be high very long. You will crash. You will get addicted. And over time, your dependence on food will lead to you being overweight, and it will keep you there. I couldn't overcome my binge eating tendencies for a DECADE. I would start on a diet, see results, then EAT MY RESULTS AWAY. Why was I doing this? There were a few factors at play. I was having self-worth issues. I was motivating myself by telling myself, "You are not good enough." That mindset caused me to SABOTAGE myself.  If you tell yourself , "You are not good enough," you will prove yourself right every time. Those are topics for the upcoming blogs. Those are deeper layers. We are going to explore the first layer.

To make this work, I need you to consider that the #1 reason you do not have the body you want is that your mind, not your body, needs to change. It's not your genetics, your thyroid, or your big bones that are keeping you stuck. It is your mind. Of course the diet and exercise matter, but I can tell you this will 100% confidence-

If you change your mind, it is only a matter of time before your body reflects those changes.

back to my story. Why was I addicted to sugar? To mindless eating? To binge eating? The real reason was I was looking to fill myself with an emotion. Whenever I was Bored, Lonely, Angry, Stressed, or Tired, I would EAT, and I experienced that high. My stresses took a back seat and my mind shut off. I would either ravenously attack an ENORMOUS serving of food, but never feel full, or I would become a zombie mindlessly eating without even knowing why, snacking and snacking and snacking till I come out of my daze surrounded by crumbs and empty wrappers.

I call these 2 experiences VAMPIRE MODE and ZOMBIE MODE. Don't lie. You saw Twilight.  You love Vampires and know all about them And I know you've probably seen a dozen zombie movies. Vampire mode is an experience that came about was a result of depriving myself and trying to "diet". I could only take depriving myself for so long before I would just SNAP and destroy THOUSANDS of calories!

Zombie mode is an experiece that came from a pain button being triggered. Boredom. Loneliness. Anger. Stress. Anxiety. Most of us are operating on auto-pilot during the day, and negative emotions come up. If the emotions is allowed to stay with us, it leads to eating and eating and eating mindlessly like a zombie. For me, there was something happening subconsciously that pushed me toward numbing the pain of the day. We all have it and it pushes us toward different things. Drugs, alcohol, sugar, overeating, working out, rage, and so many more.

The solution isn't to eat less. Diets are restrictive in nature and you will eventually SNAP!

To see real lasting results, you can't be fighting yourself every day to maintain control.

The solution isn't a new diet. Your subconscious mind is telling you EAT EAT EAT!

The solution will start in two phases.

Phase #1 is changing your mindset toward eating healthy to take away the feeling of restriction. Next we will change the foods you eat, so you don't feel deprived and enter vampire mode. If you change the way you think while you change the foods you eat, you set yourself up for REAL LASTING CHANGE!

Phase #2 is reprogramming your subconscious mind to end the EAT EAT EAT zombie mindset. This is done through a process of shifting into conscious awareness whenever you are feeling the emotions that trigger these snack attacks. Self awareness is HUGE. Being consciously self aware will lead to MAJOR changes in all areas of your life. .

In order to see LASTING changes, you must change much more than just your behavior. If you keep the same mindset that got you into this situation you will be FIGHTING yourself every step of the way, and believe me IT DOESNT WORK! I tried it for a decade. It wasn't until I changed my mindset that my body really changed.

STAY STRONG!
