Exercising is the process of overcoming resistance again and again and again.
In the gym we experience resistance as a dumbbell, barbell, cable, or bodyweight.
We subject ourselves to this resistance AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN until it burns like hell.
WHY DO WE DO THIS?
We are not only subjecting ourselves to PAIN; we are consciously and purposefully creating this PAIN.
Why?
Because this momentary intense PAIN ultimately leads to pleasure.
PAIN --> PLEASURE
I would have you consider that PAIN is ALWAYS the precursor to pleasure and PARADISE.
Focusing on the PARADISE will lead you to experience PAIN in order to PROGRESS to your PARADISE.
This PLEASURE is not immediate, but comes through PROGRESSION.
This PLEASURE takes TIME and a lot of PAIN to realize.
The only thing that will push you through the PAIN is a crystal clear understanding of the ultimate PARADISE you are working toward.
Without a focus on your PARADISE you will have NO POWER to endure.
Without the POWER, the PAIN of the PROCESS is too great to endure.
Without the PAIN there is no PROGRESSION.
With no PROGRESSION there is NO PARADISE!.
Here is the secret!
GET CLEAR AND FOCUS ON YOUR PARADISE!
This clarity will give you POWER!
This POWER will allow you to overcome the PAIN that comes as a result of PROGRESSING toward your PARADISE!
There's the secret.
All you need is someone to give you the PROCESS.

Your Body Drives Production
“It is better to live your own destiny imperfectly than to live an imitation of somebody else's life with perfection.”
What is your destiny? Your purpose? Your passion?
I would have you consider that living your destiny includes living in a body of health and fitness.
Ask yourself;
Will your production at work be greater or less if you improve your health and fitness?
Will your ability to connect with the people you care about be greater or less in a healthy and fit body?
Will your capacity to love yourself and love others be greater or less in a healthy and fit body?
Will the depth with which you engage in life be greater or less in a healthy and fit body?
And what if it was WAY more SIMPLE than you thought?
The process is SIMPLE, but not easy.
Your level of fitness and your level of health is completely intertwined with your body.
Your body is the game piece you have been given to journey through this journey of SCHOOL EARTH.
It is the medium through which you experience LIFE!
You cannot and will not experience life to the fullest level without spending time improving your body.
#1)-Drink your green smoothie EVERY DAY
#2)-Exercise EVER DAY!
#3)-Sleep 7+ hours EVERY DAY!
THIS IS THE FOUNDATION.
And if you take the time to build the foundation, you will be able to produce greater. To connect better. To love greater. To LIVE greater.
Get it done

Liberator vs Savior
I have made a MAJOR mistake in the way I have approached the Personal Training game and the Health Coaching game. The mistake is positioning myself as a Savior instead of the Liberator.
A Savior will carry you up the mountain when you fail.
A liberator will show you up the mountain and push you past failure.
I can LEAD anyone to awesome shape.
In fact I am looking for a challenge right now.
I want to take on someone who has tried EVERYTHING and can't reach the fitness they want.
If that is YOU or you know that person, send them my way. I NEED A CHALLENGE!
After studying nutrition and exercise for a decade, since I was a middle schooler, I know how to get YOU results.
However, in the past, I would hide the blood sweat and tears, and sell the dream. Positioning myself as the savior. And people would believe that I would do the work for them, and blame me for not losing weight. I had this experience the other day. A client said. "I ate over my calories this weekend and I haven't made it into the gym this week." And then come at me with, "I'm frustrated with the training because I think I've hit a plateau."
WHAT THE HELL?
You just told me you didn't make it into the gym besides our workouts twice a week, AND you just told me you ate too much.
AND YOU EXPECT ME TO FIX THINGS? That's not how this works.
That was my fault. I sold the dream. I didn't sell the hard work. The pain involved. It's harder to sell the pain.
Now I am being upfront.
This process is NOT EASY.
It is SIMPLE.
I can give you the strategy. A strategy that will get you RESULTS.
But I can only give you the strategy.
I CAN'T DO THE WORK FOR YOU.
I can only show you the way.
You have to DO THE WORK!

Vampire Mode and Zombie Mode
I started my journey into the realm of weight loss when I was a chubby little kid eating cotton-candy every day. No joke. I had an industrial size cotton candy machine that I would go around selling cotton candy with. The problem I had, the problem that plagues the drug dealing industry, is that I kept getting high on my own stash.
Yes cotton-candy is a drug, and yes it gets you high!
It's the good stuff. The pure stuff. THE SUGAR!
Getting high on sugar and food comes with it's own set of problems. You wont be high very long. You will crash. You will get addicted. And over time, your dependence on food will lead to you being overweight, and it will keep you there. I couldn't overcome my binge eating tendencies for a DECADE. I would start on a diet, see results, then EAT MY RESULTS AWAY. Why was I doing this? There were a few factors at play. I was having self-worth issues. I was motivating myself by telling myself, "You are not good enough." That mindset caused me to SABOTAGE myself. If you tell yourself , "You are not good enough," you will prove yourself right every time. Those are topics for the upcoming blogs. Those are deeper layers. We are going to explore the first layer.
To make this work, I need you to consider that the #1 reason you do not have the body you want is that your mind, not your body, needs to change. It's not your genetics, your thyroid, or your big bones that are keeping you stuck. It is your mind. Of course the diet and exercise matter, but I can tell you this will 100% confidence-
If you change your mind, it is only a matter of time before your body reflects those changes.
back to my story. Why was I addicted to sugar? To mindless eating? To binge eating? The real reason was I was looking to fill myself with an emotion. Whenever I was Bored, Lonely, Angry, Stressed, or Tired, I would EAT, and I experienced that high. My stresses took a back seat and my mind shut off. I would either ravenously attack an ENORMOUS serving of food, but never feel full, or I would become a zombie mindlessly eating without even knowing why, snacking and snacking and snacking till I come out of my daze surrounded by crumbs and empty wrappers.
I call these 2 experiences VAMPIRE MODE and ZOMBIE MODE. Don't lie. You saw Twilight. You love Vampires and know all about them And I know you've probably seen a dozen zombie movies. Vampire mode is an experience that came about was a result of depriving myself and trying to "diet". I could only take depriving myself for so long before I would just SNAP and destroy THOUSANDS of calories!
Zombie mode is an experiece that came from a pain button being triggered. Boredom. Loneliness. Anger. Stress. Anxiety. Most of us are operating on auto-pilot during the day, and negative emotions come up. If the emotions is allowed to stay with us, it leads to eating and eating and eating mindlessly like a zombie. For me, there was something happening subconsciously that pushed me toward numbing the pain of the day. We all have it and it pushes us toward different things. Drugs, alcohol, sugar, overeating, working out, rage, and so many more.
The solution isn't to eat less. Diets are restrictive in nature and you will eventually SNAP!
To see real lasting results, you can't be fighting yourself every day to maintain control.
The solution isn't a new diet. Your subconscious mind is telling you EAT EAT EAT!
The solution will start in two phases.
Phase #1 is changing your mindset toward eating healthy to take away the feeling of restriction. Next we will change the foods you eat, so you don't feel deprived and enter vampire mode. If you change the way you think while you change the foods you eat, you set yourself up for REAL LASTING CHANGE!
Phase #2 is reprogramming your subconscious mind to end the EAT EAT EAT zombie mindset. This is done through a process of shifting into conscious awareness whenever you are feeling the emotions that trigger these snack attacks. Self awareness is HUGE. Being consciously self aware will lead to MAJOR changes in all areas of your life. .
In order to see LASTING changes, you must change much more than just your behavior. If you keep the same mindset that got you into this situation you will be FIGHTING yourself every step of the way, and believe me IT DOESNT WORK! I tried it for a decade. It wasn't until I changed my mindset that my body really changed.
STAY STRONG!

Endurance
Endurance... Endurance... Endurance...
This is the aspect of my fitness that I struggled with the most, or rather the aspect I neglected the most.
I am a sprinter. My dad was a sprinter. My grandpa was a sprinter. I am a sprinter.
The first thing you gotta know about sprinters is that we don't like long distance. In fact, we hate it.
Give me some 200 meter sprints and I'll crush it. I'll kill it. I'll dominate it. But please God, don't give me an 800 or a mile!
And I told myself I hated endurance, but really I was just awful at it because I hadn't put in the time to get good at it. As a result I had no endurance. My mind was focused on the short game for years and years, and as a result I felt like I was SMASHING my head against a wall EVERY DAY I spent in the classroom. Every time I started a new workout. Every time I tried a new marketing process. Every time I started a different diet. Every time I met a new girl. Every time I got a new job. Every time I tried anything, I SPRINTED and burned out and gave up. I put in 10,000% effort non-stop for as long as I could expecting my long hours and extreme commitment to get me to the top of the mountain. But if you have ever climbed a mountain, you can't sprint to the top. There's no way.
It never even occurred to me that I was approaching life all wrong until I re-read the law of the harvest.
You cannot reap where you do not sow.
I was not sowing long enough and consistently enough to reap.
I was planting seeds for a few months and then forsaking them.
I never saw it until I took a step back.
I never saw it until I started meditating.
When I did I saw a pattern that wreaked havoc across my entire life again and again.
I may have had a long term plan or a long term vision, but I had no long term commitment. I was stuck in fear, in scarcity and I would shrink when times got tough and the thrill of a new adventure wore off. I did not have the endurance to keep moving forward. I did not have the power and the confidence to keep moving forward. I have now committed my fitness to improving my endurance and to train my mind and body to overcome these mental blocks. I am committed to winning in the long run and I will not allow anyone or anything stand in my way. I have surrounded myself with people who are pushing for excellence. I will reach my peak because I have put myself in favorable conditions.
Train and endure the PAIN
Live up to your PURPOSE
Access POWER
Fight for your PARADISE
Pursue excellence and hold yourself to a higher standard.
Keep the big picture in mind!

What's Your Excuse?
Everyone wants a healthy fit body.
Everyone wants to look amazing and feel even better.
Everyone wants to achieve a high level of fitness.
After hundreds of nutrition consultations, fitness assessments, and training sessions, I have never heard anyone tell me they do not want to look and feel better. They have told me they don't have the time(bullshit), they have told me they don't have the money(bullshit), and they have told me they have to think about it(bullshit). The list goes on and on. What I never understood was why someone would tell me they want, more than anything, to get healthy, and then throw out the worst excuse of them all, "I don't have time."
The excuse of "no time" should never be used for anything.
The truth is that you have the time, but you prioritize other things ahead of it. This thinking has made you fat. This thinking has made you skip the gym. This thinking causes you to stay stuck.
When I get one of these excuses, all I hear is;
"I am choosing to be fat."
"I would rather be overweight than make the time."
"I would rather be obese than invest in myself and happiness."
"I am a pussy!"
This is what I hear when someone tells me their favorite excuse. So my question to them and to you is;
"Do you want to be healthy, or not?"
"Do you want something different or not?"
"Do you want to spend the rest of you life overweight, because that's what's going to happen if you don't change!"
"Are you done being a pussy?"
"Are you done with your bullshit excuses?"
If you want to change, are done with your bullshit excuses, follow me on this blog, google+, on youtube, or on Facebook where I will continue to support you on this journey, and trust me, you are going to need support. Change is simple. Getting in shape is simple. Neither are easy.
